  • Research:
Mechanisms of aversive somatosensory signaling in the central and peripheral nervous system.

I am working to characterize the central and peripheral neural pathways involved in processing the sensations of itch and pain. A current focus is to develop a means to reverse hypersensitivity to pain by taking advantage of active endogenous mechanims that are involved in the "spontaneous" resolution of pain with time.
