  • Research:
Skeletal development and neoplasms, specifically related to chondrocyte differentiation and maturation.

I work in a molecular biology laboratory, where I study the P63 gene (specifically the deltaNp63alpha isotype), and its correlation to skeletal development/cancer through use of transgenic mouse models. Specifically, we use the Col10a1 cis regulatory element to over-express P63 in hypertrophic chondrocytes. In that regard we study the effects of endochondral bone formation through the use of gene expression studies, skeletal staining, and histology.
