  • Past Advisors:

    Joseph J. Cech (as Technician)

Peter B. Moyle (as Undergraduate Student)
  •
  • Research:
Acoustic stress in fishes and interspecific behavioral interactions in coral reef ecosystems.

Through the New England Aquarium I am characterizing the dynamics of fish response to the potential stress of ship noise from Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) ports. I am conducing lab-based research, amassing skills in animal care and husbandry, phlebotomy, underwater acoustics, solid phase extractions, and enzyme immunoassays. Experimental work will includes blood-water cortisol validations for all fish species (lumpfish, juvenile cod, various flounder species and wolfish) then a full water-based assay using a fully factorial sounds-structure experimental design for each species.
