  • Research:
CaMKII function in structural and functional plasticity

I am interested in studying early changes in structure of dendritic spines and the role of CaMKII, a critical regulator of memory, in both maintanence of structure and plasticity of dendritic spines of hippocampal neurons. This research has applications in memory storage and retrieval disorders and in the treatment of diseases such as ALS, Alzheimer’s and other neuronal degenerative maladies.
