    To utilize and pioneer effective means for determining anthropogenic and climate effects on near shore and coastal environments.

    Patrick’s research is determining the effects of anthropogenic and climatological effects on coastal and near-shore environments using sedimentological evidence including radionuclides as well as biological and chemical indicators. Primary study sites include Emerson Point on Snead Island, south of Tampa Bay, as well as many watersheds on St. John, US Virgin Islands including Great Lameshur Bay surrounding the Virgin Islands Environmental Research Station (VIERS).
