Clical research (magnetic resonance imaging based early diagnostic and therapy for juvenile idiopathic arthritis); Laboratory research (immunmodulatory and bone-restorative properties of mesenchymal stromal cells for patients with autoimmune diseases).

The osteonecrosis treatment development is carried out in close cooperation with the colleagues of the Radiology Department, Department for Orthopedics at the University Hospital of Tuebingen and the Pediatric Orthopedists from Stuttgart and Munich in Germany. The results of the research are in preparation for publication.
Another topic in clinical research done in close cooperation with the colleagues from the Departments for Radiology and Interventional Radiology is the diagnostic of early arthritis and silent arthritis and MRI guided steroid injections to the temporo-mandibular joints and sacro-iliac joints.
During my work as a Pediatric Rheumatologist, I actively took part in the development, advancement and promotion of ARDIS™- a computerized database for patients with rheumatic diseases. ARDIS™ is design to facilitate the daily clinical research and work and is applied now in various Adult and Pediatric Rheumatology Departments throughout Germany.
