    Primary research focus included the detection and characterization of rare genetic variants contributing to common pediatric disorders. Projects include identifying X-linked autism susceptibility loci and exploring how copy number variation contributes to the risk of atrioventricular septal heart defects in Down Syndrome. Develop methods of targeted enrichment and bioinformatic tools necessary to pursue research projects. Elucidate the population genomics of biodefense pathogens.
