We now have the technology to identify disease biomarkers that can be used to revolutionize the way disease is treated and diagnosed. My research focus is clinical biomarker discovery. Clinical biomarkers are molecules which are altered in disease. In addition to allowing the better understanding of disease, the discovery of a clinical biomarker can be the first step in developing a new therapy, drug or cure. The importance of finding viable clinical biomarkers cannot be overstated.
