  • Research:
I study small molecule - protein interactions though primary small molecule microarray screens of oncogenic proteins, computational distribution analysis to identify the novel protein binders, and secondary (SPR and/or HTS) assays to fully characterize possible therapeutic and diagnostic compounds.

My primary focus is searching for HDAC specific modulators. I have screened 11 Histone Deacetylases (HDACs) against 20,000 compounds on SMMs, modeled the data, and hand pick hits. I am in the process of running follow up assays to characterize compound activity. I'm also currently in working toward a more statistically robust to choose hits.
I also work on similar smaller scale NCI focused SMM screens and mentor some of our collaborators in running their own SMM screens.
