Using behavioral, cognitive, personality, and neuroimaging techniques, I examine possible changes that occur in the brain (and mind) at the very earliest stages of neurodegeneration, specifically in dementia of the Alzheimer's type (DAT). My focus is on the changes that occur between those who register 0 and 0.5 on the Clinical Dementia Rating scale. Current projects include correlations between personality and volumetric changes in frontal and temporal areas, mind wandering, and task switching.
