  • Research:
Physical/analytical chemist with extensive experience in custom-built instrumentation, vacuum technology, and mass spectrometry. Current research goal is to develop ion soft- and reactive landing as a technique for the highly controlled preparation of catalytic materials.

Investigating molecular-level processes that influence the creation of catalytic materials by soft and reactive landing of mass-selected polyatomic ions onto surfaces

Developing ion source, mass spectrometry, and soft landing instrumentation to enable size and shape selected deposition of catalytically relevant materials

Applying reactivity testing, characterization and computational capabilities to establish structure-reactivity relationships and design catalyst materials with improved activity and selectivity

Participating in research collaborations with scientists from experimental groups at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, National Dong Hwa University in Taiwan and O.I. Analytical in Pelham, AL.

    Mentoring undergraduate student interns

    Authoring funding proposals
