My current research examines the mechanisms underlying the long-term retention benefits of spaced study and retrieval events. Specifically, I am interested in the cognitive differences between young and healthy older adults and how these differences may discriminate between the many mechanistic alternatives previously proposed (e.g. deficient processing, encoding variability). Additionally, I am interested in self-regulated learning and how this differs between young and older adults.
