    Microbial loop, Carbon biogeochemistry and marine food-webs

    Interested in production, characterization, remineraization and fate of organic carbon in marine and coastal environments. Microbial processes especially enzymatic degradation of organic matter, their uptake and recycling are of prime interests. Carbon transfer along the microbial loop and net trophic efficiency are other areas of interest. Have studied sedimentation and flux of organic matter in coastal environments. Willing to incorporate new areas of research especially in the field of microbial ecology and sedimentary processes.
