    Conservation Genetics, Biogeography, Molecular Systematics

I study the evolution, biogeography and conservation genetics of vertebrates, especially mammals and birds. My recent work has focused on the biogeography of mammals, conservation genetics of flying squirrels, and the origin and evolutionary diversification of Galapagos mockingbirds. I am also interested in computational aspects of using molecular genetic data to date past evolutionary events and to infer historical demographic patterns.
