We do not yet understand exactly how the brain processes sensory information. Functional magnetic resonance imaging ( fMRI) is currently the most widely used method for brain mapping since it is completely non-invasive and provides high spatial and temporal resolution. I am currently using fMRI and electrophysiological techniques to understand the relationship between neuronal activity and the hemodynamic response which is the basis of BOLD (fMRI) signal.
