  • Research:
My research focuses on cognitive processing in depression, in particular biases for negative information associated with the disorder.

I have examined cognitive biases for negative stimuli in different forms of information processing including attention, memory, and interpretation. I am particularly interested in the role of self-relevance in depressive cognition, and am currently examining whether depressive biases are limited to self-relevant stimuli or generalize to externally-focused thinking. I have also studied the relationship between emotion regulation strategies, depressive symptoms, and autobiographical memory, and am interested in the effect of psychological distance on the processing of emotional stimuli.
