  • Research:
The effects of a local environment on Tryptophan fluorescence

I am using small peptides containing single tryptophan residues and altering near nearby sidechains to investigate the effects of specific changes on the tryptophan fluorescence. I am then trying to reproduce these effects using mixed Quantum Mechanics/ Molecular Dynamics simulations to determine the basis for these effects.
