Currently, I work on the c-Myb proto-oncogene and analyze the genes that c-Myb regulates. In our laboratory we use most molecular biology techniques, however, my focus has been to optimize chromatin immunoprecipitation and perform ChIP on chip. Our goal is to determine the genes c-Myb regulates in a cell cycle dependent manner. We focus on direct c-Myb binding to promoter elements as well as c-Myb protein interactions. We would like to identify c-Myb mutations or c-myb splicing patterns that unmask c-myb's oncogenic potential.
